CV Writing Services in Qatar
Written from scratch by former recruiters, for Qatari nationals and expatriate professionals already building a career in Doha and beyond. Qatar's hiring rules carry real legal weight now, and your CV has to speak to it.
Qatar's workforce is roughly 85 to 90% expatriate, the highest share in the Gulf. Since April 2025, Qatarization has carried real statutory weight under Law No. 12 of 2024, not just guidance, with fines up to QAR 100,000 for non-compliant employers and up to QAR 1 million in cases of fraudulent compliance. Careerzooom has written CVs for the Qatar market since 2007, with a human writer, never an AI tool, behind every one.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Qatari nationals applying to roles in Qatar — Priority hiring under the law works in your favour. It doesn't remove the need for a CV that competes on evidence, not eligibility alone.
Expatriate professionals already working in Qatar — You hold real structural advantage over an outside applicant. What's usually missing is a CV that reflects what you've delivered here, not the role that first brought you in.
WHAT MAKES QATAR'S HIRING DIFFERENT
Qatarization doesn't work quite like its GCC neighbours' localisation programmes. Since Law No. 12 of 2024 took effect in April 2025, it carries real statutory weight, fines between QAR 10,000 and QAR 100,000 for employers who don't comply, rising to imprisonment of up to three years or fines up to QAR 1 million for fraudulent compliance claims.
Coverage isn't uniform across sectors. Government and semi-government entities, and companies working closely with the state on projects and joint ventures, face binding hiring obligations. Private employers are covered sector by sector as the Ministry of Labour designates specific roles, with government contractors typically facing stricter requirements to remain tender-eligible. One notable exception: companies affiliated with QatarEnergy, and those engaged directly in petroleum and petrochemical operations, are excluded from the law entirely, which is part of why LNG and energy roles tied to the North Field Expansion remain some of the strongest expat-demand positions in the country.
Qatar's workforce is still roughly 85 to 90% expatriate. None of this removes opportunity, it means the CV needs to speak to whichever hiring logic the specific employer is actually working under.
NATIONAL VERSUS EXPATRIATE APPLICANTS: WHAT CHANGES ON THE PAGE
Qatari national applicant | Expatriate applicant | |
|---|---|---|
Where it matters most | Employers with binding Qatarization obligations | All sectors, competing on experience and specialisation |
What gets noticed first | Sector fit alongside quantified, comparable achievement | Depth of specialisation, prior Gulf or international experience |
Tone | Direct, achievement-led, no need to justify local presence | Needs to establish visa, sponsorship, and current-role context clearly |
Common mistake | Assuming national status alone carries the application | Underselling niche expertise employers are actively seeking |
THE NON-NEGOTIABLES FOR A QATAR-READY CV
Quantified achievement stated early. An ATS pass followed by a sub-minute recruiter read is the norm here.
Nationality and sponsorship status noted clearly. Doha's employer network is small enough that ambiguity gets noticed.
Sector-specific terminology, especially in LNG, healthcare, and QFC-linked finance.
Two pages as standard, more at senior or technical level.
A CV that overstates a technical qualification is found out faster in a market this small than almost anywhere else in the Gulf.
IF YOU ARE A QATARI NATIONAL
Priority hiring gives you an advantage on paper. It doesn't remove the comparison between you and other Qatari candidates applying for the same role. The gap Careerzooom sees most often is a CV that treats the target as the qualification, rather than the achievement behind it.
IF YOU ARE AN EXPAT ALREADY WORKING IN QATAR
The usual issue isn't a lack of experience, it's a CV still built around the role that first got you into the country. Moving between sectors, or stepping into project leadership from an operational role, means rebuilding the CV around current, locally verified results. This is also where your LinkedIn profile matters, inconsistencies between your CV and profile get noticed fast in a market this connected.
DOCUMENTATION AND CREDENTIALS
Engineers and technical specialists in LNG and infrastructure are commonly checked against professional body registration. Healthcare professionals are checked against Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners licensing before Hamad Medical Corporation or Sidra Medicine will proceed to offer. Foreign qualifications generally require attestation. None of this belongs spelled out on the CV itself, but it should be written knowing the check is coming.
SENIOR AND EXECUTIVE MOVES
Director and executive appointments in Qatar carry higher stakes around discretion and how a leadership narrative translates into a market this specialised and this small. Careerzooom has supported senior moves within Qatar for years, more care on positioning, not a different tier of service.
